...biochar is our weapon to fight climate change.
Give a person biochar if you want them to have biochar. Teach a person how to make biochar and you enable them to take care of themselves and the environment. Char2Cool is not just another charity! We are mentors, we are facilitators, we are supporters.
We are an alliance to our producers and their communities.
Get to know us
We are a German non-profit organization with a focus on water hyacinth char as a solution to climate change.
We commit to our producers...
We choose long-term impact over short term success. We are giving something more valuable than money: Know-How. We know how to make water hyacinths char. We know how to make a living from it. The implementation isn’t always easy, but with hours of phone calls and text messages we have overcome every challenge so far. Our producers know they can count on our support!
We commit to climate protection...
Climate change is the biggest challenge of our time… and therefore our top priority. We prevent massive amounts of CO2 by turning the water hyacinths into biochar. But prevention is only one part of our work. We also restore the balance in ecosystems that are choked by water hyacinths. When the water hyacinths are removed, native fish and plant species can breath again… life returns to the dead lakes and rivers.
